Thank you for coming to this site from which I have, am, and will continue to use to stay in contact with you, my friends and family! Over this semester, I will have seen almost every biblical site in Israel from Mt. Hermon in the north to Eilat in the south. Praise God for this awesome opportunity.

I am very excited to have this blog in which I can document the things I see and learn so that I may share my semester in the Holy Land with you! I can only think that if Peter and the other disciples knew of this blog they would have been amazed. We are part of the fulfillment of the mission of the church: “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8). As I write this, I am staring across the path into the glimmering reflections of the city across the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel. As I write this, you are reading this on the other side of the earth in southern California (the other side of the globe!). We are fulfilling the mission Jesus Christ, our Savior, gave to his disciples almost 2,000 years ago!

However, I don’t want this site just to be used as a way for you to see how I am doing and get updated with my on-goings. This blog is designed for me, a Christian on a mission to make other Christians, to encourage and be encouraged by others with the same mission. We are called out of the darkness into the light to shine forth to the furthest ends of the earth. Let us live as full-time evangelists and encourage one another to keep sharing the gospel. So, don’t think of this as a blog for you to read and update yourself on what Jonny has been up to; rather, use this blog as a forum for us to encourage one another so that we may be “standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27).
